Founded in 1922 as the Reich Employers’ Association of the Cigarette Industry, a new association, the Employers’ Association of the Cigarette Industry e.V. (AdC e.V.) was established in Germany in 1950.

After 75 years of successful collective bargaining and social policy for its member companies and their employees it was time to consider new horizons in 2025.

Since April 2026 the association has pursued its goals and performed its tasks under the name of German Employers’ Association for Nicotine & Innovation e.V. (ANI e.V.).

Since 1950 it has been operating from Hamburg, the headquarters of its collective bargaining partner, the Food, Beverages and Catering Union (NGG).
